BYU RB Tyler Allgeier Hits 1,000 Rushing Yard Mark In 2020 Season

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – BYU running back Tyler Allgeier has surpassed 1,000 rushing yards this season.
Allgeier needed 43 yards to reach 1,000 and he did that in the second quarter of the Boca Raton Bowl against UCF. BYU had a 35-10 lead over the Knights at halftime. In the first half, Allgeier ran the ball 9 times for 53 yards, averaging 5.9 yards per carry.
He is the 16th BYU running back to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season and the first since Jamaal Williams in 2016.

The sophomore started the season with 134 yards against Navy, followed by just 50 yards versus Troy. Then he had 93 rushing yards against Louisiana Tech and 116 vs. UTSA. Allgeier only racked up 25 yards versus Houston, before getting 76 yards on the ground against Texas State. Then he had 95 against Western Kentucky, 123 versus Boise State, 141 against North Alabama and 106 yards against Coastal Carolina.
Allgeier ran for over 100 yards in 5 games this season and has 12 touchdowns on the ground.
