BYU’s Zach Wilson Opens Boca Raton Bowl With Rushing Touchdown

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – BYU quarterback Zach Wilson capped off a productive opening drive for the Cougars with a rushing touchdown.
BYU played UCF in the Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday, December 22.
Wilson ran in a 15-yard touchdown to give the Cougars a 7-0 lead with 13:11 left in the first quarter.

It’s the 9th rushing TD of the season for Wilson. BYU started the game with the ball. Wilson completed his first pass to Neil Pau’u for an 11-yard gain before Tyler Allgeier ran for 18 yards. Then Wilson found Allgeier for a 43-yard gain. Wilson’s pass to Isaac Rex in the end zone was incomplete before getting the touchdown with his legs.
The Cougars are searching for their 11th win of the season in their best year under head coach Kalani Sitake. BYU was ranked No. 16 in the final College Football Playoff top 25 rankings on Sunday.
