John Knight III’s Hot Shooting Leads Southern Utah Past Dixie State

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Southern Utah guard John Knight III posted an efficient shooting performance to lead the Thunderbirds past the Dixie State Trailblazers.
The T-Birds hosted the Trailblazers in Cedar City, Utah on Thursday, December 17.
Knight led SUU with 22 points on 9-10 shooting in an 85-78 win over Dixie State.

The Thunderbirds guard added three rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a big block in the win.
Overall, Southern Utah shot 42.9 percent from the field compared to 46.6 percent by Dixie State.

The T-Birds had a big advantage when it came to grabbing boards. SUU outrebounded Dixie State, 46-32.
The Trailblazers turned over the ball 25 times in the loss.
The defeat was Dixie State’s first of the season and dropped the Trailblazers’ record to 3-1.

Dixie State’s next game is against the SAGU American Indian College Warriors on Saturday, December 19 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
With the win, Southern Utah improved to 5-1 and 4-0 at home.
