BYU/UVU Women’s Basketball Game Rescheduled

PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s basketball game against UVU has been rescheduled. The two teams were originally scheduled to play this past Tuesday, but UVU had a positive COVID-19 test that forced the game to be postponed.
Now the Crosstown Clash will take place on Wednesday, December 23rd at 12 p.m. MST in the Marriott Center.

This will be the next game on BYU’s schedule. The Cougars are 3-1 season led by star guard Shaylee Gonzales who is putting up some impressive numbers this season. Gonzales is shooting 55 percent from the field, 53 percent from three, and a perfect 100 percent at the foul line. The sophomore guard is averaging 17.3 points per game and has been dubbed BYU’s version of Donovan Mitchell by head coach Jeff Judkins.
Utah Valley is currently 2-0 and will be off until the Dec. 23 meeting with BYU as well. The Wolverines are coached by second-year coach Dan Nielson who was previously on Jeff Judkins’ staff at BYU. He has a staff of coaches with strong BYU ties that include former WCC Player of the Year Morgan Bailey as an assistant.
BYU Women’s Basketball history with UVU
The December 23rd matchup will mark the 11th meeting all-time between BYU and Utah Valley in Women’s Basketball. BYU holds a perfect 10-0 record in the series that dates back to 2005. The Cougars have won the last eight meetings by double-digits.
