In normal years, fan attendance is not a question in the bowl season as it’s a way for fans to go to a warm-weather climate during the holiday season. But as we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a wrench in all of our traditions.
Boca Raton Bowl 2020 will allow fans
BYU’s postseason destination will be played at FAU Stadium, home of the Florida Atlantic Owls, and will allow 6,000 fans to be seated in the 30,000-seat venue. The tickets will go on sale at a later date with pandemic protocols in place.
A mask will be required to be worn in the stadium.

BYU has played seven games this season in front of fans, with only three of the contests featuring more than 6,000 fans. Those games took place in mid-October when the Cougars traveled to face Houston in front of 10,092 fans, and a pair of home games against Texas State (6,570), and Western Kentucky (6,843). All but one of UCF’s nine regular season games were played in front of crowds larger than 6,000 fans this season.
Kickoff for the Boca Raton Bowl is scheduled for Tuesday, December 22nd, at 5 p.m. (MT).
