PROVO, Utah – BYU linebacker Drew Jensen picked off San Diego State quarterback Jordon Brookshire to kill an Aztec possession and set up a drive that ended with a touchdown pass from Zach Wilson to Isaac Rex.
The No. 18 Cougars hosted the Aztecs at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, December 12.
With 11:08 left in the second quarter, Brookshire decided to throw the ball on a run-pass option play. Jensen took advantage of Brookshire’s decision and intercepted the ball.
Jensen returned the ball 11 yards.

It was the sophomore linebacker’s first career interception.
Outstanding play by Drew Jensen. The breakout moment of his #BYU career. Former Brighton Bengal has quietly had a solid season. Big INT to kill SDSU's drive.#SDSUvsBYU #BYUFootball @kslsports

The Aztecs nearly stopped the Cougars on the following possession.
BYU decided to go for it on 4th and 1 from the SDSU 45-yard line.
Lopini Katoa ran up the middle and broke loose for 43 yards and set the Cougars up in the red zone at the Aztec two-yard line.

It was Wilson’s 29th passing touchdown of the season and Rex’s ninth touchdown catch of 2020.
What a turn of events for #BYU. SDSU offense was rolling and looked to be well on their way towards getting a 14-point lead.
Jensen with the INT, then a facemask, and BYU's offense highlighted by a big Katoa run gets the game tied back up at 14.#SDSUvsBYU #BYUFotball
