Cameron Gooden Scores 23 Points, Leads Dixie State To Win Over Denver

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Dixie State guard Cameron Gooden scored 23 points and led the Trailblazers to a win over the Denver Pioneers.
The Pioneers hosted the Trailblazers at Hamilton Gymnasium in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, December 12.
Gooden scored a game-high 23 points to lead Dixie State to a 73-70 win over Denver.
It was DSU’s third consecutive win to start the 2020-21 season.

The junior guard shot 7-13 from the field, including 5-9 from three-point range.
Overall, the Trailblazers shot 42.4 percent compared to the Pioneers’ 46.9 percent.
However, Dixie State was 37.0 percent from beyond the arc, while Denver shot 26.7 percent from distance.
Three Dixie State players, including Gooden, scored in double figures.
Frank Staine and Hunter Schofield scored 10 and 14 points, respectively.

Dixie State’s next game is against the Utah State Aggies on Tuesday, December 15. The Trailblazers and Aggies are slated to tip-off at 7 p.m. (MDT).
Utah State’s game on December 12 was canceled because of COVID-19 issues with the Aggies. After the cancellation, USU said that the upcoming “contest with Dixie State on Tuesday, Dec. 15, may also be impacted and more information on that game will be forthcoming.”
