SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau has been included in the 16-man field for this week’s QBE Shootout event in Naples, Florida.

The QBE Shootout is unlike any PGA Tour event as the tournament is a team-based competition that is played under differing formats.

Finau & Champ

Finau will partner alongside Cameron Champ. The two combine for three career PGA Tour victories and are known as some of the longest hitters of the golf ball.

The two have never been partnered in the QBE Shootout before. However, at the PGA Championship in August of this year, they managed to both finish inside the top 10 with Finau in a tie for fourth and Champ a tie for tenth.

Playing Format & Broadcast Info

The tournament event will begin on Friday, December 11th with a scramble format, Saturday will involve a modified alternate shot and the final round on Sunday will be a better ball format.

The broadcast will be available on both the Golf Channel and NBC. Golf Channel will broadcast the entirety of Friday’s proceedings.

Finau and Champ will be competing for the $3.6 million purse, one of the higher purses on the PGA calendar.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with the collection of players heading to Tiburon Golf Club this year.  We have one of the strongest fields in the event’s history and that has led to 12 incredible pairings,” Tournament Host Greg Norman said.  “The competition will be fierce this year, so I’m looking forward to an exciting three days of golf for our global television audience to enjoy.”
