Utes’ Covey Sprints For 64-Yard Touchdown On Punt Return Against Oregon State

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah wide receiver Britan Covey sprinted down the sideline for a 64-yard touchdown on a punt return against the Oregon State Beavers.
The Utes hosted the Beavers at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, December 5.
With 14:37 left in the game, Oregon State’s Luke Loecher punted the ball 43 yards into Covey’s arms.
The junior receiver shifted to the far sideline and sprinted 64 yards into the end zone for his second touchdown of the game.

The touchdown extended Utah’s lead over Oregon State to 30-10.
It was the second punt returned for a touchdown of Covey’s career.
Covey returned a punt for a score during his freshman season in 2015.

During the third quarter vs. Oregon State, the receiver scored his first touchdown since 2018.
Prior to that, Covey’s last touchdown reception was on October 20, 2018, in a 41-28 win over the USC Trojans.

The catch gave him four receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown against the Beavers.
He also had two carries for seven yards.
