Three-Star California WR Makai Cope Commits To Utah Football

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah football picked up a verbal commitment from wide receiver Makai Cope.
The Culver City, California native is a three-star prospect that is ranked No. 45 in the state of California and the No. 80 wide receiver in the country according to 247Sports composite.
Cope announced his decision on Friday afternoon.
“For the next three years, I will be attending the University of Utah. Go Utes,” Cope said on his YouTube announcement.
Cope received offers from Arizona State, Kansas State, Michigan, Stanford, USC, Arizona, Boise State, Fresno State, Oregon State, San Jose State, Syracuse and Washington State.
One of Utah’s wide receiver commits in the 2021 class, Deamikkio Nathan announced that he has decommitted from the program. Cope becomes the 16th prospect to verbally commit to Utah.
Cope joins four-star inside linebacker Ethan Calvert, four-star quarterback Peter Costelli, four-star inside linebacker Mason Tufaga, three-star running back Ricky Parks, three-star tight end Isaac Vaha, three-star defensive tackle Tevita Fotu, three-star inside linebacker Trey Reynolds, three-star offensive tackle Zereoue Williams, three-star athlete Velltray Jefferson, three-star outside linebacker Cole Bishop, three-star offensive guard Koli Faaiu, three-star cornerback Elisha Lloyd and three-star outside linebacker Jonah Elliss.
