The announcement gave no indication regarding his next move.
“As for the future, I’m very excited for what lies ahead,” Blake concluded.
During his tenure with the Real Salt Lake organization, Blake captained the Monarchs and appeared in 55 games scoring on 9 occasions.
His biggest moment with the club came when he lifted the USL Championship trophy high above his head following the 2019 season. His leadership on and off the pitch played a large role in guiding the club to their first USL trophy.
Blake joined the Monarchs family midway through the 2018 season after being placed on loan by the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Blake bounced around the then NASL for a number of years with stints at Tampa Bay, Jacksonville and Minnesota. Prior to coming to the United States, he signed his first professional contract with Nottingham Forrest in England.
The 2020 season brought challenging times for the Monarchs who relied on an incredibly young and inexperienced squad to attempt at protecting their USL Championship.
The club only managed three victories, two draws and suffered 11 defeats through 16 games in 2020.
The announcement made by Blake comes just a day after the club announced the signing of young attacking midfielder Josimar Quintero.
