BYU Bringing Out Good Luck All-White Uniforms For Coastal Carolina Game

PROVO, Utah – BYU football is back in action this weekend when they take on Coastal Carolina Saturday afternoon in Conway, South Carolina.
The game was put together in a short period of time midweek, and now the rush to get everything squared away for the cross country trip continues, including what uniforms they will be wearing.
BYU Equipment staff teased the uniforms, and it’s a familiar look with a slight twist. The Cougars are going with the all-white uniforms featuring royal blue stripes and numbers. But it will also have “The Giff” facemask. The Giff facemask, as BYU’s team calls it, is a gray mask that pays tribute to the Gifford Nielsen era (the late 1970s) of BYU football.

Pairing up “The Giff” facemask with the all-white uniform would give BYU their 10th different uniform combination in 2020. BYU is set to wear black uniforms for the game against San Diego State on Dec. 12.
BYU’s all-white uniforms with royal blue numbers and stripes have been a good luck charm for the Cougars. Since rolling out last season, BYU is undefeated in those jerseys with wins over Utah State, Navy, and Boise State.

vs. Troy – All-royal blue
vs. LA Tech – Traditional royal blue jersey and white pants
vs. UTSA – Navy blue jersey and white pants
at Houston – White jersey with royal blue numbers and pants; gray facemask on the helmet
vs. Texas State – All-navy blue
vs. Western Kentucky – All-white with navy blue numbers and stripes; pink accessories
at No. 21 Boise State – All-white with royal blue numbers and stripes
vs. North Alabama – Navy blue jersey and white pants; gray facemask on the helmet
at No. 18 Coastal Carolina – All-white with royal blue numbers and stripes; “The Giff” facemask
vs. San Diego State – All-Black with white numbers and royal blue striping.
