LOGAN, Utah – The Mountain West Conference announced their players of the week awards and Utah State claimed all three honors.

The Aggies are the first team to sweep the Mountain West weekly awards since San Diego State on September 11, 2017.

On Thanksgiving Day, Utah State picked up their first win of the season by a final score of 41-27 over New Mexico at Maverik Stadium.

Offensive Player Of The Week

Quarterback Andrew Peasley was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week. The sophomore completed 14 of his 21 pass attempts for 239 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 118 yards and another score.

Peasley became the first Utah State quarterback to rush for more than 100 yards since 2015. In his first career start, USU had a season high in points (41), first downs (22), rushing yards (209), passing yards (243), total offense (452) and yards per play (7.5).

The La Grande, Oregon native was also one of eight quarterbacks named a Manning Star Of The Week.

Defensive Player Of The Week

Linebacker Nick Heninger was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week. Heninger recorded eight tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles in Utah State’s win last week. On one of the forced fumbles, the Aggies scooped it up and returned it for a touchdown.

The Aggies allowed season lows in points (27), passing yards (152) and total offense (348) against the Lobos on Thanksgiving Day.

Special Teams Player Of The Week

Place kicker Connor Coles was named Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week. Coles made both of his field goal attempts in Utah State’s win over New Mexico. He hit a career-long 44-yard field goal in the second quarter.

The Bozeman, Montana native scored a career-high 11 points in the win.

Utah State will return to Maverik Stadium on Thursday, Dec. 3 as they will host Air Force at 7:30 p.m. MST on CBS Sports Network.
