Oregon Remains No. 1 In Latest KSL Sports Pac-12 Power Rankings

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Oregon Ducks are the top team in the Pac-12 for the third straight week.
The Ducks picked up a 38-35 win over UCLA this past week to keep their unbeaten season alive.
Washington is on their heels with a 2-0 record following their win over Arizona. In the South Division, USC and Colorado are the top two teams respectively.
Here is the KSL Sports Pac-12 Power Rankings ahead of the fourth week of the 2020 season.
North Division
1. No. 15 Oregon Ducks (3-0)
Previous Result: Beat UCLA, 38-35 at home
Recap: The Ducks jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the Bruins answered with two unanswered TD’s. Oregon had a 24-21 halftime lead thanks to a pick-six by Jordan Happle just before the break. The Ducks had a 10 point lead going into the fourth quarter and UCLA had an opportunity to tie or win the game but couldn’t convert on fourth down. Tyler Shough threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns. Devon Williams caught 6 passes for 123 yards and a TD.

2. Washington Huskies (2-0)
Previous Result: Beat Arizona, 44-27 at home
Recap: The Huskies jumped out to a 37-0 lead through the first three quarters. Arizona outscored Washington 27-7 in the fourth quarter. Dylan Morris threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Cade Otton had 7 receptions for 100 yards and one TD, while former Orem star Puka Nacua hauled in one reception for a 65-yard touchdown.
Washington’s game against Washington State was postponed (potentially canceled). Since Utah’s game against Arizona State was canceled, the Huskies will host the Utes on Saturday.

3. Oregon State Beavers (1-2)
Previous Result: Beat California, 31-27 at home
Recap: Cal scored 13 points in the second quarter and took a 20-14 halftime lead. Oregon State managed to kick a field goal in the third quarter. The Beavers scored first in the fourth quarter to take a four-point lead. The Bears answered with a TD midway through the fourth to go up by three points. With 4:30 left in the game, Tristan Gebbia ran in a one-yard TD to give Oregon State the lead for good. Gebbia had 147 passing yards, two total touchdowns and two interceptions. Jermar Jefferson continued his hot start with 18 carries for 196 yards and one TD.

4. California Golden Bears (0-2)
Previous Result: Lost to Oregon State, 31-27 on the road
Recap: Cal scored 13 points in the second quarter and took a 20-14 halftime lead. Oregon State managed to kick a field goal in the third quarter. The Beavers scored first in the fourth quarter to take a four-point lead. The Bears answered with a TD midway through the fourth to go up by three points. With 4:30 left in the game, Tristan Gebbia ran in a one-yard TD to give Oregon State the lead for good. Chase Garbers threw for 315 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Marcel Dancy racked up 76 yards on the ground. Kekoa Crawford had 10 receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown.

5. Washington State Cougars (1-1)

Recap: Washington State’s game against Stanford was canceled due to COVID-19 cases in the Cougars’ program. Their Apple Cup matchup this week has also been canceled.

Recap: Stanford’s game against Washington State was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns among the Cougars’ program.

South Division
1. No. 18 USC Trojans (3-0)
Previous Result: Beat Utah, 33-17 on the road
Recap: USC scored 21 points in the second quarter. The Trojans held Utah scoreless in the second half while scoring three field goals. Kedon Slovis threw for 264 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Vavae Malepeai added a rushing TD along with 62 yards.
USC’s game against Colorado this week has been canceled after the Trojans had positive COVID-19 tests this week.

2. Colorado Buffaloes (2-0)
Previous Result: Game Canceled
Recap: The Buffaloes had their game against Arizona State canceled due to COVID-19 cases in the Sun Devils’ program. Their game against USC this week was also canceled due to positive cases in the Trojans’ program. Colorado scheduled a non-conference game with San Diego State this week since the Aztecs’ game versus Fresno State was canceled earlier this week.

3. UCLA Bruins (1-2)
Previous Result: Lost to No. 11 Oregon, 38-35 on the road
Recap: The Ducks jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the Bruins answered with two unanswered TD’s. Oregon had a 24-21 halftime lead thanks to a pick-six by Jordan Happle just before the break. The Ducks had a 10 point lead going into the fourth quarter and UCLA had an opportunity to tie or win the game but couldn’t convert on fourth down. Dorian Thompson-Robinson did not play for the Bruins, redshirt freshman Chase Griffin got the start. He went 19-of-31 passing for 195 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Demetric Felton rushed for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns.

4. Utah Utes (0-1)
Previous Result: Lost to USC, 33-17 at home
Recap: USC scored 21 points in the second quarter. The Trojans held Utah scoreless in the second half while scoring three field goals.
Since Utah’s game against Arizona State was canceled this week and Washington’s game versus Washington State was called off, the Utes and Huskies will square off in Seattle on Saturday. Utah lost starting quarterback Cam Rising for the season after suffering an injury in the second quarter. Jake Bentley threw for 171 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Ty Jordan had 32 rushing yards on seven carries in his college debut. Nephi Sewell had a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Recap: Arizona State’s game against Colorado last week was canceled and their home game against Utah this week was canceled as the Sun Devils continue to deal with COVID-19 cases in their program.
