“The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has signed guard Jake Toolson. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released,” the Jazz said in a statement on Wednesday, November 25.
Toolson played for BYU from 2014-16 and 2019-20. In between stops in Provo, the guard played at UVU.
For his performance during the 2018-19 season, Toolson was honored as the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year. After his junior campaign, he transferred back to BYU.
During his three seasons with the Cougars, the new Jazzman averaged 8.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 68 games.
Toolson started 37 games for BYU, including 32 as a senior last season. In his final year with the Cougars, he averaged 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
