SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah quarterback Jake Bentley connected with Samson Nacua for his first touchdown pass as a member of the Utes.

Bentley and the Utes hosted the Trojans at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, November 21.

With 49 seconds left in the first half, the senior quarterback found Nacua for a seven-yard touchdown pass.

It was Utah’s first offensive touchdown of the 2020 season.

The score cut the Utes’ deficit against the Trojans to 24-17.

Bentley lost the starting quarterback competition to sophomore Cam Rising and didn’t start the game. The transfer from South Carolina entered the contest in the second quarter after Rising exited with an apparent injury.

In the first half, Bentley was 4/8 passing for 41 yards and one touchdown.

Nacua’s catch was his first of the game. The receiver entered the matchup with 10 receiving touchdowns in his career.

The Utes trailed the Trojans 24-17 at halftime.
