SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah quarterback Jake Bentley replaced starter Cam Rising following an apparent injury early in the Utes’ game against the No. 20 USC Trojans.

The Utes hosted the Trojans at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, November 21.

With 14:45 left in the second quarter, Rising was strip-sacked by USC’s Marlon Tuipulotu.

The Trojans recovered the football and took possession at the Utah four-yard line.

After the play, Rising went to the sidelines and into the team’s medical tent.

Following a penalty and two plays, USC punched in a two-yard run for its first touchdown of the game.

The Trojans took a 10-3 lead with 14:04 remaining in the first half.

After USC’s kickoff, Bentley stepped onto the field in replacement of Rising.

During Rising’s time on the field, he was 3/6 passing for 45 yards and one interception.

On Bentley’s first series, he was 0/1 and the Utes punted.
