Sky View Repeats As 4A State Champions With Win Over Pine View
ST. GEORGE, Utah -The Sky View Bobcats are state champions for the second consecutive season.
They knocked off Pine View, 39-33 in the 4A State Championship game on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats capped off a perfect season with a 13-0 record. Dating back to last season, Sky View has won 25 straight. Their last loss was to Skyridge on August 23, 2019.
The Panthers scored first when Dominique Mckenzie ran in a 4-yard touchdown early in the first quarter. Sky View answered with a touchdown pass from Kasen Carlsen to Trey Nyman from 22-yards out. Both teams missed their first PAT’s of the game.
The Bobcats took their first lead of the game when Carlsen found Titan Saxton for a 22-yard score early in the second quarter. Two and a half minutes later, Brayden Bunnell threw his first TD of the game, finding Preston Mann from 13-yards out. Sean Tempest’s 4-yard touchdown late in the first half gave the Bobcats a 20-13 lead heading to the locker room.

With 7:04 left in the third quarter, Carlsen ran in an 11-yard TD to put Sky View up 27-13. Bunnell answered by throwing a 35-yard touchdown to Mann to trim the deficit to 26-20 going into the fourth quarter.
Carlsen scored his second TD on the ground from one-yard out early in the fourth quarter. Bunnell and Mann connected again, this time on a six-yard TD. Sky View’s lead was 32-27 heading down the stretch.
Bryce Larsen busted out a 67-yard touchdown run to extend the Bobcats’ lead to 39-27. Bunnell threw another touchdown as he hit Mckenzie for a 40-yard strike with under six minutes in the game.
For Sky View, Carlsen finished with 4 total touchdowns, 2 passing and 2 rushing. Bryce Larsen and Sean Tempest each ran in a rushing TD, while Titan Saxton and Trey Nyman each caught a score.
For Pine View, Bunnell threw four touchdowns, three to Mann and one to Mckenzie – who also ran in a TD.
