Zach Wilson, BYU Convert 4th & Goal Following 50-Yard Fumble Recovery By Isaiah Kaufusi

PROVO, Utah – Quarterback Zach Wilson and the Cougar offense converted a 4th & Goal against North Alabama after the BYU drive was set up by a 50-yard fumble recovery from linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi.
The Cougars hosted the North Alabama Lions at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, November 21.
North Alabama had possession at the BYU 49-yard with 4:50 left in the second Lions running back Tyler Price fumbled the ball.
Kaufusi picked up the pigskin and returned it 50 yards to the North Alabama six-yard line.

It was Kaufusi’s fourth career fumble recovery.
Against the Lions, the linebacker had four total tackles, three solo tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss.

Four plays later, BYU decided to go for it on 4th & Goal from the three-yard line.
Wilson connected with tight end Isaac Rex, who jumped above a Lion defender for the Cougar touchdown.
It was Rex’s second touchdown reception of the game.

After the play, Wilson was 8/14 passing for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
Rex had three catches for 20 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
