Orem Wins Fourth Consecutive State Title With Win Over Timpview

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah – The Orem Tigers won their fourth straight state championship in football with a win over the Timpview Thunderbirds.
Orem beat Timpview 26-13 in the 5A title game at Cedar Valley High School on Friday, November 20.
It was the Tigers’ second consecutive 5A title after winning back-to-back 4A championships in 2017 and 2018.
Orem was carried to victory by a three-headed rushing attack featuring Payton Skipps, Joe Smith, and Kolton Brown-Dye.
The trio combined for four rushing rushing, including a pair of scores by Skipps.
Smith had 21 carries for 100 yards on the ground.

Timpview quarterback Liu Aumavae threw two touchdown passes in the T-Birds’ loss.
Both of Aumavae’s touchdown passes were to wide receiver Ammon Key.
Thunderbirds running back Targhee Lambson was limited to 81 yards on 14 carries.
The championship was a back-to-back matchup between Timpview and Orem after the Tigers beat the Thunderbirds for the 5A trophy in 2019.
