Juab Wins First State Championship In School History With Win Over Morgan

ST. GEORGE, Utah – For the first time in school history, the Juab Wasps are 3A State Champions with a 17-14 win over the Morgan Trojans.
After finishing the 2019 season as runner up to Morgan, the Wasps got revenge in 2020. Last season, Morgan beat Juab, 8-0 in the championship game.
Each team had two rushing touchdowns. One from both Bodee Blackett and Trey Lund for Juab. Morgan had two rushing TD’s, one from Ryder Lish and William Lance.
Trey Lund started things off with a one-yard touchdown run to give the Wasps a 7-0 lead with 5:59 remaining in the opening quarter. They added to their lead with a field goal early in the second quarter.

Morgan answered late in the second quarter with a 16-yard TD run by Ryder Lish to trim the deficit to 10-7. The Trojans took the lead before halftime as William Lance ran in a two-yard TD to take a 14-10 advantage to the locker room.
With less than five minutes left in the third quarter, Bodee Blackett had an 83-yard TD run to give the Wasps a 17-14 lead. Juab attempted a long field goal with 4:21 remaining but it was short.
Juab finished the 2020 season with a 12-1 record. Their only loss was to Salem Hills from the 5A classification. They ended the year on a 10-game winning streak.
This was their closest game in their victories this season.
