SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 5A and 6A Utah high school football playoffs will no longer be played in St. George, according to UHSAA’s website.
Instead, the games will be played in Eagle Mountain at Cedar Valley High School.
The change comes the morning after Utah Governor Gary Herbert announced new mandates to slow the spread of COVID-19 but no official reason for the change has been released by the UHSAA.
“Association staff will work with the Governor’s office and the State Health Department to understand the unique impacts to UHSAA activities, including the conclusion of the UHSAA State Football Championships and UHSAA winter activities."
