Real Salt Lake Player Tests Positive For COVID-19 Ahead Of Sunday Match

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A member of the Real Salt Lake Soccer team tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement from the club.
The club didn’t release the name of the player but did say the team’s match this Sunday against Sporting KC is still on.
According to the club, all other first-team players and staff have returned “consecutive negative tests” but the player who tested positive will self-isolate under CDC guidelines with the supervision of team medical staff.

“Players and staff will continue to be closely monitored through the weekend, with Sunday’s match against Sporting KC at Rio Tinto Stadium continuing as scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. kick-off,” read a statement from the club.
