Former Real Salt Lake Academy Products Named To U.S. Men’s National Team

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Real Salt Lake Academy products Richard Ledezma and Sebastian Soto have been called into U.S. National Team duties by manager Greg Berhalter ahead of friendlies against Wales and Panama, it was announced this morning. Berhalter’s squad includes 24 players.
The USMNT will take on Wales in Swansea on November 12th followed by a fixture against Panama in Austria on November 16th.
“We are excited about getting this group back together. I’m proud of the way the players have handled the challenging times – they really stuck together,” Berhalter said in a statement released by the USMNT this morning. “We have built a solid foundation, and now we get a chance to continue our work together ahead of what is going to be a critical 12 months for our team,” he added.

Ledezma, 20, currently plays his club soccer at PSV Eindhoven in Holland where he has one appearance. Prior to leaving for the Netherlands in 2019, Ledezma played five games, scoring one goal, for the Real Monarchs in 2018-19. Before he was called into the Real Monarchs, Ledezma developed his game with the RSL Academy between 2016-18.
Soto, 20, now plays for Teslstar, a second-tier Dutch team while on loan from English Championship side Norwich City FC. Soto has appeared in six games for Telstar scoring five goals. Prior to joining Norwich City, Soto played in the Bundesliga for Hannover 96 where he notched 5 appearances.
Much like Ledezma, Soto was a member of the RSL Academy between 2016-18.
