BYU Linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi Forces, Recovers Fumble Against WKU

PROVO, Utah – Senior BYU linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi came up with a big forced fumble and fumble recovery in the first quarter against Western Kentucky.
After trailing 14-3 lead early in the game, the Hilltoppers set out to respond to the BYU touchdown by Dax Milne.
On the first play of the drive, WKU running back Gaej Walker ran it up the middle for 14 yards before Kaufusi caused the fumble and recovered the ball.

The turnover gave the BYU offense the ball on Western Kentucky’s 39-yard line.
On their first drive on defense, the Cougars held strong, giving up only a field goal after WKU moved the ball 49 yards on 14 plays on a drive that took over 8 minutes.
Kaufusi has been a leader on the defense, with 37 tackles, 3 sacks and an interception on the season. He turned that interception into a touchdown last week against Texas State.
