Romney Pulls Down Impressive Catch Leading To BYU’s First TD Against W. Kentucky

PROVO, Utah – BYU wide receiver Gunner Romney snagged an impressive reception on the Cougars’ first touchdown drive against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
BYU hosted Western Kentucky at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, October 31.
With 11:49 left in the opening quarter, BYU quarterback Zach Wilson found Romney running down the far sideline and let the ball sail through the air towards the junior receiver.
Romney leaped into the air and pulled down the pigksin at the Western Kentucky three-yard line despite tough defense by a Hilltopper cornerback.

The 38-yard reception set the Cougars up for two easy runs and a Tyler Allgeier touchdown. The score gave BYU a 7-0 lead with 10:38 remaining in the opening quarter.

Romney’s catch was his second of the game and put him at 44 receiving yards early in the contest. His first catch put him over 1,000 receiving yards for his BYU career.

For Wilson, it was his 17th passing touchdown of the 2020 season.
