SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – CBS Sports lead NFL analyst and former quarterback Tony Romo thinks that former BYU and current San Francisco 49ers star Fred Warner is the best linebacker in the game.

Romo was on the television call on CBS with Jim Nantz for the San Francisco 49ers game against the New England Patriots.

“He (Warner) does so many things at a high level…that’s the best linebacker in ball right there,” Romo said on the broadcast.

The former BYU linebacker had one interception for 3 yards, 7 tackles and one pass deflection in the 49ers’ 33-6 win over the New England Patriots.

This season, Warner is the leading tackler for the 49ers with 50. He also has two tackles for loss, two pass deflections and one interception, which came against the Patriots on Sunday. His 33 solo tackles is tied for 11th in the NFL.

Warner is in his third season in the NFL. In 38 games played, he has racked up 292 tackles, 207 solo tackles, 3 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions and one touchdown.

The 49ers improved their record to 4-3 on the season with their win over New England. They will travel to Seattle on Sunday, November 1 to face NFC West rival Seahawks at 2:25 p.m. MDT on FOX.
