BYU QB Zach Wilson Pulls Down Catch As Cougars Call Trick Play Against Texas State

PROVO, Utah – BYU quarterback Zach Wilson found himself on the receiving end of a trick play during the second quarter of the Cougars’ game against the Texas State Bobcats.
The No. 12 Cougars hosted the Bobcats at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, October 24.
With 12:40 remaining in the first half, BYU offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes had his offense run a receiver pass to quarterback trick play.

Wilson took the snap and handed the ball off to wide receiver Dax Milne, who then dished the ball off to fellow wide-out Neil Pau’u.
Pau’u slung the ball down the sideline to Wilson for a 16 yard completion at the Texas State 11-yard line.

On the following play, BYU running back Tyler Allgeier took the ball 11 yards into the end zone to give the Cougars a 21-7 lead.
