Katoa Runs Over Bobcats For First BYU TD In Front Of Fans At LaVell Edwards Stadium In 2020

PROVO, Utah – BYU running back Lopini Katoa trucked Texas State Bobcats on his way into the end zone for the Cougars’ first touchdown in front of fans at LaVell Edwards Stadium this season.
The No. 12 Cougars hosted the Bobcats at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, October 24.
Trailing 7-0 with 7:03 left in the opening quarter, BYU quarterback Zach Wilson handed the ball off to Katoa, who ran over some Texas State defenders as he cross the goal line.

Katoa’s run and an extra point kick by Jake Oldroyd tied BYU and Texas State at 7-7.
With the run, Katoa had one carry for four yards and and a touchdown.
He also recorded one catch for one yard to begin the game. It was the BYU running back’s 20th career touchdown as a Cougar.

Wilson opened the game 5/5 passing for 59 yards and two carries for 12 yards.
It was BYU’s first game at home with fans in attendance in 2020.

6,000 fans were allowed to attend the contest between the Cougars and Bobcats.
