Jaylen Warren Scores First Touchdown Of Season For Utah State
BOISE, ID – The Utah State Aggies scored their first touchdown of the 2020 college football season.
Running back Jaylen Warren found the end zone on a one-yard run to trim Boise State’s lead to 28-7 with 2:05 remaining in the third quarter.
The senior scored his sixth career touchdown in a Utah State uniform.
The Snow College transfer is playing in his second season with Utah State. In 2019, he dealt with injuries but managed to appear in 12 games. Warren racked up 569 yards on 112 carries and 5 touchdowns.
Through three quarters, Warren had 18 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown.
The season opener against Boise State was the debut of former Ute Jason Shelley at quarterback for the Aggies. Through nearly three quarters of play, Shelley went 8-for-15 passing for 54 yards. He also ran the ball 8 times for 12 yards. Former Ute Devonta’e Henry-Cole had 3 carries for 4 yards through three quarters of his debut.
The Aggies struggled in the first half, posting just 45 yards of total offense. In just the third quarter alone, Utah State racked up 103 yards of total offense.
