Report: Former BYU Star Yoeli Childs Interviewed By Knicks, Making “Strong Impression” On Teams
On Saturday, October 24, Begley reported that Childs was recently interviewed by the Knicks and the forward/center was making a “strong impression” on NBA teams.
“One name to keep an eye on with the Knicks in the second round? BYU power forward/center Yoeli Childs,” Begley wrote. “The Knicks interviewed Childs recently, per SNY sources, and those sources said Childs has been making a strong impression during interviews with teams who have picks in the early/mid second round.”
The Knicks have a pair of first round selections and one pick in the second round of the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft. New York currently owns picks No. 8, No. 27, and No. 38.
“Several teams said Childs, a senior, has impressed in his other pre-draft interviews,” Begley continued. “It’s worth noting that teams in this uncertain draft may lean toward taking a player with a higher floor like the 22-year-old Childs, as opposed to a player who has a high upside but is less of finished product.”
The 2020 NBA Draft is scheduled to take place virtually on Wednesday, November 18 at 5 p.m. (MDT).
