Former BYU Safety Daniel Sorensen Picks Off Josh Allen To Seal Chiefs Win

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Former BYU safety Daniel Sorensen picked off Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen late in the game to help the Kansas City Chiefs to victory.

The Chiefs had a 26-17 lead with 1:56 remaining in the game when Allen gained three yards on the first play of the drive. On the next play, Allen threw a deep ball where Sorensen picked it off with his right hand. The Chiefs took a knee twice to pick up the 26-17 win over the Bills.

The game was originally scheduled for Thursday, October 15 but was postponed to Monday, October 19 because the Bills played the Tennessee Titans on October 13 because of the postponement with the Titans, who had multiple cases of COVID-19.

Sorensen finished the game with 5 total tackles, 2 solo takedowns and a pass deflection to go with his interception. It was his first interception of the season. Last season, Sorensen had two picks.

Three other locals from the state of Utah played in this matchup. Former Utah State running back Darwin Thompson had 3 carries for 17 yards for the Chiefs. Former Utah running back Zack Moss returned after missing the last two games with a toe injury. The Bills rookie had 5 rush attempts for 10 yards. Former Weber State cornerback Taron Johnson recorded 8 tackles for the Bills.

Kansas City improved their record to 5-1 on the season. They will travel to Denver to face the Broncos on Sunday, October 25 at 2:25 on CBS.

Buffalo dropped their second straight game and are now 4-2 on the year. They will go to New York to face the Jets on Sunday, October 25 at 11 a.m. on CBS.
