HOUSTON, Texas – Add Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes as the latest person to buy into the Zach Wilson hype.
Mahomes, the NFL’s defending MVP, tweeted praise to Wilson for the BYU signal caller’s touchdown shovel pass.
Well done!! 💪🏽💪🏽😎 https://t.co/hwf5qVYn7h

“Well done,” wrote Mahomes for Wilson on his personal Twitter page.
The play was in the fourth quarter, with BYU down 21-26 against Houston, Wilson tossed a shovel-pass to tight end/fullback Masen Wake that resulted in a touchdown. Giving BYU the lead. ESPN analyst Andre Ware drew comparisons to Mahomes with how that play was executed.
A couple of weeks ago, Mahomes gave the inspiration by completing a touchdown shovel pass against the Baltimore Ravens during Monday Night Football.

Wilson, who loves to watch the NFL, studies Mahomes and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers as much as he can. The study paid off on Friday night with an impressive touchdown pass, leading to praise from a guy that he continues to study.
It’s not all tricks and thrills with Wilson. The efficiency that Wilson has played with this season has BYU off to their first 5-0 start since 2008.
Through five games, Wilson has passed for 1,641 yards, 12 touchdowns, and only one interception. His production this season could see him in the same league as Patrick Mahomes next season as he continues to rise up boards for the 2021 NFL Draft.
