HOUSTON, Texas – If Andre Ware was overseeing an NFL franchise, he would have Zach Wilson near the top.
The former first-round NFL Draft pick showed off his top five quarterback prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft during the ESPN broadcast of BYU’s 43-26 win over Houston.

Ware tabbed Wilson as the No. 2 quarterback prospect for the 2021 NFL Draft class. Behind only Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence who is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in next April’s draft.
Wilson was rated on Ware’s list in front of Florida’s Kyle Trask, Justin Fields from Ohio State, and North Dakota State’s Trey Lance.
The former Heisman Trophy winner, Ware has been a big believer in Wilson since he arrived on campus at BYU. Ware once compared Wilson to Jimmy Garroppolo when the BYU standout was a true freshman.

Now after a career-high 400-yard performance and leading his BYU team to their first 5-0 record in 2008, the buzz surrounding Wilson’s NFL Draft stock isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
ESPN’s longtime NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. rated Wilson as the No. 5 QB in the class of 2021. Other outlets have labeled Wilson as a fast-rising Draft prospect.
Through five games in 2020, Wilson has passed for 1,641 yards, 12 touchdowns, and only one interception. Wilson has completed 79 percent of his passes and he has a quarterback rating at an eye-popping 207.68.

Regardless of the competition, Wilson is making NFL passes that executives, general managers, and coaches will covet at the next level. Just watch Wilson’s game-winning touchdown throw to Dax Milne. That was one of the better throws you’ll find from a college quarterback this season.
Wilson and BYU return to action on Saturday, October 24th, when they host the Texas State Bobcats in Provo.
