Utah Valley Announces Men’s Basketball Season-Opener Against Stanford

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Valley Athletics announced that the Wolverines men’s basketball team will open the 2020-21 season against the Stanford Cardinal.
The Cardinal will host the Wolverines in California on November 25.
Three days later, UVU will return to Utah to play at BYU.

Prior to his NBA career, Utah Valley head coach Mark Madsen played for Stanford from 1996-2000.
This will be the first meeting all-time between the Cardinal and Wolverines, according to Sports Reference.
In February, Utah Valley and BYU announced the renewal of a three-game crosstown series.

The Wolverines finished the 2019-20 season in eighth place in the Western Athletic Conference.
Utah Valley wrapped up Mark Madsen’s inaugural season as the team’s head coach with an 11-19 record.
