Douglas Martínez Gives Real Salt Lake Early Lead Over Timbers With Close Range Goal

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake forward Douglas Martínez buried a shot from a close range to give his club and early lead over the Portland Timbers.
RSL hosted Portland at Rio Tinto Stadium on Wednesday, October 14.
In the 11th minute of action, Martínez took advantage of a deflection off Timbers goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic.
The RSL forward connected his right foot onto the ball in the center of the box and the shot went past one Portland player and into the back of the net.

The goal gave Real Salt Lake a 1-0 lead over Portland.
It was Martínez’s first goal of the 2020 season.

The forward entered the match with 13 shots, including four shots on goal.
