The 2020-21 ECHL season was originally slated to begin on October 16.

In August, the league announced a revised anticipated start date of December 4. The official and confirmed schedule was pushed back a week from that revised date.

In March, the league announced the rest of the 2019-20 regular season and postseason were canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Last season, Utah posted a 34-17 record before the season was canceled.

The Grizzlies have played at the Maverick Center in West Valley City, Utah, since 1997.
