SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The coronavirus disease, COVID-19, caused the final two regular season football games for the Murray Spartans to be canceled.
The Spartans were slated to wrap up their regular season schedule with contests against the Highland Rams and Box Elder Bees.
In late September, Murray’s game against the Brighton Bengals was canceled because of the virus and 29 Spartan players were placed into quarantine.

On Wednesday, October 7, a Murray School District official confirmed that the Spartans final two games have been canceled and that “the entire team and school are on quarantine until October 19.”
Because of the length of time required for the quarantine, the high school football regular season will already be completed and the postseason underway.
Participation in football activities is not allowed if a program exceeds more than three individuals with positive tests for COVID-19.
Roy High’s football team was recently placed into quarantine following an outbreak of the virus inside the Royals’ program.
