PROVO, Utah – The connection between BYU quarterback Zach Wilson and Gunner Romney is strong.
On Friday night, Wilson found Romney for the fifth time in the first half against LA Tech, and it was one of the best grabs of the season from a BYU receiver.
Wilson connected with Romney for a gain of 22-yards. The junior receiver made a jump-ball grab near the endzone that reminded many of former NFL great Randy Moss.

That catch is straight cash, just like Moss used to do with the Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, and Oakland Raiders.
Romney entered Friday night number four nationally in yards per catch averaging 30.4 yards per grab. Romney’s jump ball only resulted in 22 yards, but that doesn’t matter; the catch and the ability to get up over the defender was impressive.
The play was ruled a touchdown on the field, but after a review, the officials ruled it down at the LA Tech one-yard line. One play later, Tyler Allgeier found the endzone on a one-yard touchdown to give BYU a 21-7 in the second quarter.
