SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former University of Utah wideout Tim Patrick is making the most of his opportunity with the Denver Broncos. The receiver, in his third season with the Broncos, made the seven-yard touchdown catch to extend the Broncos lead over the New York Jets 23-16 in the third quarter. The score marked Patrick’s second score n the last two games, this time from quarterback Brett Rypien.
The former Ute is seeing extra reps in the absence of Broncos starter Courtland Sutton who is out for the season after tearing his ACL earlier this year.

Patrick’s third-quarter touchdown wasn’t his only big play Thursday night. The former Ute caught a 41-yard deep ball from Rypien midway through the second quarter to set the Broncos up for their first touchdown of the game.
