Davis High School Senior Awarded Scholarship For Achievements In Classroom, Pitch

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University Federal Credit Union awarded Davis High School Senior Alizabeth Romero-Arevalo a scholarship for her academic and athletic achievements during his high school career.
The Davis senior was awarded the sixth scholarship given out by University Federal Credit Union this season. Romero-Arevalo was awarded a $500 scholarship.
Every week during the high school football season, a scholarship will be awarded to a student-athlete.
During her high school career, Romero-Arevalo has achieved a 3.927 GPA while balancing her academic and athletic obligations.
Leader On The Pitch
Romero-Arevalo is a captain on the Davis soccer team where she anchors the midfield and enjoys pushing forward creating and scoring goals for the Darts. She currently leads the team in both goals and assists.

Romero-Arevalo’s soccer coach credits the success of the team in-large due to the leader that Romero-Arevalo has become but also references how she is an idol for the younger players.
“She is a great example to the younger players on the team in showing you do not need to sacrifice your work in the classroom for excellence on the field,” Head Soccer Coach Souli Phongsavath said.
Romero-Arevalo is taking four continuing education classes during her senior year at Davis High School.

Following her high school career, Romero-Arevalo plans on attending Utah State University and hopes to continue her success both in the classroom and on the soccer pitch.
She dreams of one day preparing the next generation to one day succeed like she has by studying to become an elementary teacher.
