PROVO, Utah – BYU in 2020 has occupied the role of “BYU After Dark” with the Pac-12 sidelined until November 6th. The late-night kicks take a break in mid-October when BYU hosts UTSA.

The matchup between BYU and UTSA was a late addition to the schedule due to all the scheduling changes from conferences in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be a one-game guaranteed game, with BYU not making a return trip to San Antonio.
The October 10th meeting will mark the first-ever meeting between the Cougars and Roadrunners. UTSA has started the season with a surprising 3-0 record in Jeff Traylor’s first year as head coach.
UTSA is one of the youngest football programs in all of college football. The Roadrunners’ first season was played in 2011 as an FCS Independent. Then they moved up to the WAC and in 2013 they landed in Conference-USA where they’ve resided ever since.
BYU is 2-0 to open the 2020 season and is ranked No. 22 in both the Coaches and AP polls.
Houston game moves up to the mothership
Another scheduling tidbit was announced on Monday as BYU’s road game at Houston will now be televised. Originally the game was scheduled to be played on ESPN2. The game day remains the same, Friday, October 16th, and will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. (Mountain Daylight Time).
