Former BYU Linebacker Fred Warner Leads Niners In Big Win Over Giants

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU and current San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner led his team to a big win over the New York Giants in week three of the 2020 NFL season.

Warner, a captain for the Niners, helped San Francisco to a 36-9 win over New York. The 49ers improved to 2-1 on the season with the result.

Here is how all of the players with ties to the state of Utah fared during the third week of the season.

Former Utah Utes

Kylie Fitts – Linebacker – Arizona Cardinals (2-1)

The former Utah linebacker and the Cardinals fell 26-23 to the Detroit Lions.

Leki Fotu – Defensive Tackle – Arizona Cardinals (2-1)

The former Utah defensive lineman was not active for the Cardinals in the their 26-23 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Zack Moss – Running Back – Buffalo Bills (3-0)

The former Utah running back was inactive with a toe injury for the Bills’ 35-32 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Jaylon Johnson – Cornerback – Chicago Bears (3-0)

The former Utes defensive back recorded four total tackles and three solo tackles in the Bears’ 30-26 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Bradlee Anae – Defensive End – Dallas Cowboys (1-2)

The former Utah defensive end and the Cowboys fell 38-31 to the Seattle Seahawks.

Garrett Bolles – Offensive Tackle – Denver Broncos (0-3)

The former Utah offensive lineman and the Broncos fell 28-10 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tim Patrick – Wide Receiver – Denver Broncos (0-3)

The former Utah receiver had four catches for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ 28-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

John Penisini – Defensive Tackle – Detroit Lions (1-2)

The former Utah defensive lineman had one tackle in the Lions’ 26-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Julian Blackmon – Safety – Indianapolis Colts (2-1)

The former Utah safety had one tackle in the Colts’ 36-7 win over the New York Jets.

Josh Nurse – Cornerback – Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2)

The former Utes running back had three carries for 31 yards in the Raiders’ 36-20 loss to the New England Patriots.

Mitch Wishnowsky – Punter – San Francisco 49ers (2-1)

The former Utah punter did not punt during the Niners’ 36-9 win over the New York Giants.
