Zach Wilson Sets Up TD With Deep Throw To Gunner Romney

PROVO, Utah – BYU quarterback Zach Wilson threw a beautiful deep pass to Gunner Romney that set up the Cougars’ second touchdown of the night.
It was first and 10 at the Troy 42-yard line when Wilson went play action and threw the deep ball to Romney, who completed the 41-yard catch at the one-yard line.
On the next play, Wilson ran into the end zone to put BYU up 14-0 over Troy with 11:03 remaining in the first half at their home opener at an empty LaVell Edwards Stadium.

It was Wilson’s first rushing touchdown of the season. The drive started at their own 26-yard line. In two plays, Allgeier rushed for 21 yards. After a few incomplete passes by Wilson, he threw a 9-yard pass to Romney . On 4th and 1, Wilson ran for two yards which set up the big 41-yard play. On Labor Day against Navy, Romney caught 4 passes for 134 yards and one touchdown in the 55-3 win over the Midshipmen.
Through the first quarter and a half against the Trojans, Wilson was 9-11 passing for 134 yards and a rushing TD.
