Former Utah State Running Back Charles ‘Tuff’ Claybaugh Passes Away At Age 80

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State football announced that former Aggie running back Charles “Tuff” Claybaugh passes away at the age of 80.
Claybaugh died in early September following injuries that he sustained from a fall in his home.
The former Utah State back played for the Aggies from 1960-62.
During his time in Logan, Claybaugh helped Utah State to an overall record of 26-4-1 and a pair of Skyline Conference championships in 1960 and 1961.

Claybaugh helped lead the Aggies to back-to-back bowl appearance in 1960 and 1961 as well.
The former USU running back finished his college career with 112 carries for 571 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also had 8 receptions for 113 yards.
Following his graduation, Claybaugh continued to give back to Utah State and was an active fundraiser for the Big Blue Club.
