SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake forward Justin Meram headed home a goal that was beautifully serviced by Maikael Chang late in the second half.
The goal equalized the match at one goal apiece against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
In the 81st minute, Chang had the ball on the right hand side when he booted the ball into the box at the far post when Meram headed the ball into the back of the net.
It’s the third goal of the season for Meram in his first season with Real Salt Lake.

After a scoreless first half from both teams, the Whitecaps scored first when David Milinkovic found the back of the net in the 53rd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, RSL was down to 10 men when Kyle Beckerman was shown a second yellow card.
Minutes after Meram’s goal, Lucas Cavallini put the Whitecaps up 2-1.
RSL was hoping to bounce back after suffering a 5-0 loss to Rocky Mountain rival Colorado last week but Salt Lake couldn’t level the match.
