SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Donovan Mitchell made a surprise appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay. The Utah Jazz guard appeared as his alma mater, the Louisville Cardinals football team prepared to host the Miami Hurricanes in a matchup of two top 20 ranked ACC teams.
The Cardinals enter the game ranked 18th in the country while the Hurricanes are ranked 17th. Both teams are 1-0 on the season.
“What’s up everybody, Donovan Mitchell here man,” Mitchell said in his remote appearance. “Excited to be part of College GameDay, you know, it’s going to be a big game tonight. The last College GameDay we had was when Lamar (Jackson) went off against Florida State. I was actually there for that so pretty special have to come back to U of L. Unfortunately I can’t be there but I’m excited. You know we’re gonna do some good things tonight and of course, L’s up always.”

Former Heisman Trophy Winner and Louisville star Lamar Jackson, now the MVP winning quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens also appeared in the recorded segment.
Mitchell Not The Only Jazz Guard to Appear On College Gameday
Mitchell isn’t the first Jazz guard to appear on College GameDay. In October 2015, before the University of Utah was set to face the Cal Golden Bears, Hall of Fame Jazz guard John Stockton appeared on GameDay and picked the Utes to beat their PAC-12 foe.
