LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Tuesday that they have added former Utah State cornerback Nevin Lawson to the active 53-man roster.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders waived former Aggie safety Dallin Leavitt.
Lawson is in his second season with the Raiders after spending five seasons with the Detroit Lions. He was selected by the Lions in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Through his 74 games played throughout his career, Lawson started in 59 games, recording 217 tackles, 30 passes deflected, one sack, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery that was returned for a touchdown.
The former Aggie didn’t appear in the Raiders’ 34-30 win over Carolina in their season opener due to serving a one-game suspension for using a helmet as a weapon in the season finale against the Denver Broncos last season.
Leavitt appeared in 15 games last season, racking up 10 tackles. As an undrafted free agent, Leavitt was starting his second season in the league.
Las Vegas will open the brand new Allegiant Stadium when they host the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.
