SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah State and current Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Nick Vigil recovered a fumble during his team’s victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals hosted the Chargers on Sunday, September 13, for the opening week game.

Early in the fourth quarter and the game tied at 13-13, Los Angeles’ Denzel Perryman flew into the backfield and punched the ball out of the hands of Bengals running back Joe Mixon.

The ball popped off the turf and into Vigil’s arms for the fumble recovery with 12:20 remaining in the contest.

Eight plays later, the Chargers connected on a 22-yard field goal to take a three-point lead.

Los Angeles would hold on for the 16-13 victory over Cincy.

The former Utah State linebacker ended the game with 5 total tackles, 3 solo tackles, and a fumble recovery.

It was the linebacker’s first game with the Chargers after signing with the organization this past off-season. He played for the Bengals during the first four seasons of his NFL career.

Up next for Vigil and the 1-0 Chargers is a meeting with the 1-0 Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, September 20 at 2:25 p.m. (MDT).
