Former Utah Safety Marcus Williams Intercepts Overthrown Ball By Buccaneers QB Tom Brady

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah and current New Orleans Saints safety Marcus Williams picked off an overthrown ball by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
Williams and the Saints hosted the Bucs in the team’s 2020 season opener on Sunday, September 13.
During the second quarter of play, Brady tossed a pass intended for Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans. The throw sailed over Evans and into the arms of Williams.

The former Ute caught the pass near midfield and returned the ball 17 yards to create a short field for the Saints’ offense.

The interception was the first for both Williams and Brady this season.

New Orleans took advantage of the possession and scored in three plays.
The Saints lead the Buccaneers 14-7 with 10:09 remaining in the first half.
Last season, Williams accounted for 55 total tackles, 40 solo tackles, 1 forced fumble, 4 interceptions, and a touchdown.
